This project involved the fast track construction of a new Bar & Servery areas at the Montenotte Hotel in Cork City, namely The Glasshouse. The new Bar, has been designed
by Henry J Lyons Architects, with creativity, delivering a distinctively eclectic vibe.
The main frame, designed by Horgan Lynch & Partners, features traditional structural steel sections with connection details to mimic sections used in the Victorian era thus giving a
sense that the new building is actually old world.
Elevation treatment included zinc, cut stone and high energy glazing.
Internal fitout included herring bone patterned engineered wood flooring, polished plaster features including ceramics, marble, brass and coloured glass. Internal divisions were formed from crittall screens.
External landscaping included various pieces of granite, limestone, paving with coloured resin set down areas.
The lighting design was a key feature which serves to create a very special atmosphere for the guests as they look out at the spectacular views over Cork City.
A glazed link bridge was installed to link the existing Hotel Bar & Restaurant to the new Glasshouse Bar.
