Vision Contracting awarded NISO/NISG 2023 Higher Distinction and Consistent Achiever Awards
October 18, 2023
Vision Contracting was delighted to once again receive Higher Distinction and Consistent High Achiever awards at the 2023 NISO/NISG Annual Occupational Health & Safety Awards. This is Vision Contracting’s sixth year entering the awards, and the accolades acknowledge the continued hard work and safety commitment from all our staff, validating our approach to continually reviewing and upgrading of safety management systems and safety culture.
Glen Cowley, Environmental Health & Safety Manager, Vision Contracting, commented: “We are delighted to once again receive the Higher Distinction and Consistent High Achiever awards at this year’s NISO/NISG Annual Occupational Health & Safety Awards.
“It is a testament to our ongoing commitment, showing that safety, health and welfare forms an integral part of our business. It is a team effort developed and supported by everybody at Vision Contracting.”
The NISO Awards recognise robust safety management systems in Irish companies as well as companies that work at keeping employees safe.
During 2023, Vision Contracting was also delighted to have won the Irish Construction Excellence (ICE) Public Realm Award for Mallow Castle House, Spa House Demesne and Tip O’Neill Park, having won the ICE Fit-Out Award in 2022 for Fexco Innovation Centre and RDI Hub in Killorglin, Co Kerry.
A key part of Vision Contracting’s success has been our relentless focus on continuous improvement across all of our support functions, particularly in terms of our safety culture and safety management systems.
We worked with safety software specialists Hammer Technologies, and earlier this year, we rolled out an online safety management system with a single centralised platform across all construction site operations. This system provides an integrated, easy mobile-first access to connected modules for subcontractor management, inductions, RAMS, SPA’s, Permits, Inspections, Audits and much more.
Vision Contracting Managing Director Niall O’Meara says that the senior management team has had a clear vision of what they wanted to do from the beginning. “Our goal was to create a new kind of progressive, owner-driven construction services company that is customer-focused, operating across multiple construction sectors, and with each director taking a hands-on approach on every project.
“The NISO/NISG Awards mean a lot to us, as it is a recognition of the hard work put in by our site teams with the support of our customers across the business every working day. The recognition is also very important to our ongoing business development efforts as we continue to grow the company activities across all sectors,” Niall O’Meara concludes.
