Vision Contracting joins the celebrations at the opening of Craddockstown School

Vision Contracting attended the official opening of Craddockstown School, Naas, by An Taoiseach Simon Harris in January. This essential education project now provides specialised learning for students aged four to 18 years of age with autism and complex needs. As the main contractor, Vision Contracting delivered the project through a rapid reconfiguration programme completed within two months during the summer of 2024.
Craddockstown School is one of five recent Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools projects undertaken by Vision Contracting in 2024. Others include Cara School (Enfield), Grangegorman School (Dublin), Mungret Community School (Limerick), and a major expansion at Stepping Stones School (Maynooth).

Wayne Halloran, Contracts Manager, Vision Contracting, emphasised the challenging yet rewarding nature of the Craddockstown project, highlighting the collaborative effort of all stakeholders and subcontractors.
Wayne commented: “This accelerated rapid-reconfiguration project ran for two months from 01 July to the end of August. It required an immense commitment from all stakeholders. I want to recognise in particular the contribution made by our professional subcontracting team, which included Keogan Electrical Contractors, Kerrigan Mechanical, Align Construction and Advance Flooring.”

The Vision Contracting team at Craddockstown included Aidan O’Connell (Director), Wayne Halloran (Contracts Manager), Ben Lidgitt (Senior QS), PJ Dunne (Site Manager), Graham Cahill (Foreman) and John Byrne (Civils Foreman).
Other dignitaries at the opening of Craddockstown School included Minister of State with Responsibility for Special Education and Inclusion Hildegarde Naughton, Nina Carbery MEP, Mayor of Kildare Fintan Brett, School Principal Kate Steed, Kildare and Wicklow ETB’s Ken Scully, and other local TDs.

The project and design team for Craddockstown School comprised PSCS and Main Contractor, Vision Contracting; Project Quantity Surveyor, Peter Harte, KSNPM; Design Lead and Architect, Leon Shakeshaft, Arthur Gibney and Partners; M&E Consultant, Colman Reynolds, CRA; and Civil & Structural Engineer, David Clarke, Punch Consulting.
